Our flagship product, mSwali Quiz, is a USSD based Quiz game whose topics focus on the localized African countries & the continent.

About the Role

We’ve got a long and challenging road ahead of us – launching in different African countries to engage African adults – and we can’t do it without an amazing growth specialist! If you’re into gaming and while at work you get into long arguments about last-click attribution, we want to work with you! In this cross-functional role, you’ll be able to learn a lot, and you will have exposure to all levels of the organization. Our growth specialist will be part of the product management team, but will work closely with marketing and engineering.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Assist in creating & running a system for measuring, reporting, and optimizing key user growth metrics.

    • Lead in the analysis of these key metrics & other content & engagement related metrics.

    • Develop strategies and tactics to get the word out about mSwali and use growth hacking techniques to drive mSwali Quiz player growth.

    • Creating strategic partnerships designed to grow mSwali Quiz & using these partnerships to attract new mSwali Quiz players.

    • Ensure user A/B tests get up and running, and willing and able to help product and marketing team interpret results and present them to management without bias.

    • Experiment with a variety of organic and paid acquisition channels.

    • Put in place a system for measuring, reporting, and optimizing key user growth metrics.

    • Keeping up to date with industry activities and trends and researching, analysing and summarizing of market trends.

    • Measure and report on the performance of marketing campaigns, gain insight and assess against goals.

    • Analyse consumer behaviour and adjust email and advertising campaigns accordingly.

    • Stay up-to-date on emerging technologies.

Key Requirements

    At least 2-3 years’ experience in a tech startup or gaming environment.

    A great growth specialist comes from different backgrounds Having mixed skills of coding or engineering and marketing is advantageous but not a MUST have.

    Comfortable with big data to prepare a growth hacking plan, you must be comfortable with existing data. The existing data only tells what the current trend is, and which ideas are working and which are not.

    Think like an end-user : A growth professional must understand the customer’s intention.

    Analytical skills: Ask questions about the product, build hypothesis, analyse the product then take a decision.

    Entrepreneurial mindset: Demonstrate entrepreneurial skills are advantageous

    • Experience in creating & closing strategic partnerships

    • Demonstrate that you are willing to learn what you don’t already know.

    • Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
