Description
We are looking for a data engineer. The range of responsibilities will include developing ,testing and maintaining our data pipelines and infrastructure.Software engineers with an interest of venturing into data are also encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
We have a fairly new data infrastructure and are looking for an individual who can be involved in maintaining and improving the architecture.
This individual will be responsible for:
Develop,test and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines and data infrastructure.
Build and maintain data pipeline orchestration systems.
Implement and support reporting and analytics infrastructure.
Identify ,design and implement improvements in automating processes , optimizing workflows, improving data availability and delivery.

Skills
The ideal candidate for this position:
Has strong Linux skills
Has Working SQL knowledge and experience with relational databases (especially Postgres)
Has knowledge of data modelling , orchestration tools (e.g airflow) and data warehouses
Has experience with ETL/ELT data pipelines
Has analytic skills associated with working on unstructured data
Experience with GCP (e.g BigQuery) will be an advantage
We are looking for motivated and independent thinking developers. The ideal candidate for us is a quick learner, able to pick up the nuances of a complex domain fast. They are intellectually curious and have done many interesting things, even without being paid to do them.
We are open to candidates with “unconventional tech” backgrounds e.g non technical degrees, self taught developers etc. If you believe that you have serious and relevant skills (despite your unconventional background), and can prove it, we’d like to hear from you. These positions are open to fresh graduates with limited experience. For that reason, the evaluation process will be rigorous.
Traditional reference checks etc will occur after this stage. Candidates who get past this will go into an induction program - focused on teaching them our domain and the nitty-gritty of our technical stack.
